The league
Elite summer soccer.
Founded in 1999, Super Y is a nationwide youth soccer summer league operated by the United Soccer Leagues (USL), the largest organization of elite soccer leagues in North America.

Affiliated with US Soccer, the Super Y League contains the youth academies of Major League Soccer clubs, USL pro clubs, premier development league and W-League clubs. Divisions within Super Y are organized geographically and membership in the league is only limited to a few elite programs to ensure strong competition.
The Super Y League has its own ODP identification program that has opened countless doors for players to be identified for the US National Team Program.
Why play with WCOB
One badge, all summer.
Playing under WCOB
Every Super Y team we field plays under the WCOB FC badge. From the 2026 season onward, players train, compete and are identified as WCOB FC across every age group — the same club identity worn at all of our other programs. The program ran under the name OBSC through the 2025 season, and that pathway continues as WCOB FC.
Where we compete
WCOB involvement with the USL Super Y League in the summer allows us to continue driving the development of players with competitive training, and play games against regional opponents. WCOB is one of only 6 clubs in the state of Illinois competing in this program, and our teams compete in the Midwest Region — WI, IL, IN, MO and MI.
The season
When we play, and who.
Super Y season training starts in June with 2 training sessions a week in Oak Brook. Each team will play 6–8 games, and all games should end by mid-August. This is all subject to change if mandated by the Super Y League office, but the above is our intention.
At the end of summer, league winners qualify for the USL Super Y Finals held in early December in Florida. Teams who qualify for the Super Y Finals are required to travel to Florida in December to compete — failure to do so could result in large fines.
League games are organized tournament style, whereby most teams visit neutral site locations and play multiple games over that weekend. We also schedule one-off games against league opponents geographically close to us. Given the structure of the league, players from any club are allowed to participate with our teams without requiring a release from their specific club.
We are aware that June, July and August are vacation months for families, so players will not get penalized for missing some practices or games.

Rosters & age groups
Who makes the team.
U11
18 players
U12
22 players
U13–U19
26 players
In order to have adequate numbers for all games, we always expect to carry the full allowed roster sizes. Players compete for the game day roster that is selected for each game day. The large roster size is necessary to accommodate absences due to summer vacations.
USL Super Y determines the age groups. In 2018, the league shifted age groups to align with the upcoming fall season, allowing players to use Super Y League play to better prepare for the upcoming club season. Super Y has divisions for U11 through U19.
Coaching
Who will coach.
Teams are coached by assigned WCOB youth staff, with emphasis on each player's personal technical and tactical skills development as the primary factor. Teams of similar ages train frequently at the same time and same fields in order to maximize opportunities for players to gain a range of experience as well as be observed by multiple coaches.
